Anyone who know's me or want's to chat to somebody else who originates from Prestwick, please feel free to contact me.
| Shona Malcolm | Merely an interest in what other people remember about the school. Mr Monnickendam followed Mr Murdoch as Rector in the early to mid seventies. also the new blocks were built around 1970/72 and two near disastrous incidents occurred in the first year or two of existence! | |
| Libby Goslan Maiden Name :- McCulloch | Hi, I attended Glenburn Primary School, and then went on to Prestwick Academy. I still live close to Prestwick and visit often. Would like to say 'Hi' to anyone that visits this great website who knows me. | |
| Colin Connolly | Started Primary 1 at Prestwick High in 1969. Then went to Kingcase '72-76... back at "new" Academy 1976-82. Bob Kennedy was my House Master -
St. Cuthberts. So, it's 25 years this year since my year group started (gulp!) and will be 20 years next year since those who did CSYS left "the Academy"! One or both of those anniversaries has got to be worth organising a reunion for...?! Anyone from my year on this list - or any teachers of our era (some are still there eg. Bob Murray, Sandy Fowler, Alan Bruce) fancy a get together at the turn of the year (Christmas/New Year vac) somewhere in Prestwick?! We could have a drink or a meal together... :) BTW: I have lived in Oxford and worked at Oxford Brookes University since a few months after graduating from Uni (MA Hons, French and German Language and Literature, St Andrews, 1982). I'm currently Languages Centre Manager in the School of Languages at Brookes - work based home page is at http://solinux.brookes.ac.uk/solws/staff/colin/index.php3 ... a bit boring, but I hope to have something more interesting up at my Demon account "real soon now". Univ. email address is: colin@sol.brookes.ac.uk Thanks to Bob Murray, Assistant Rector at the Academy still ;-) for telling me about this site, when I saw him a couple of weeks ago in Prestwick, and to Robert McIntyre for maintaining it! Nice job! :)
| Paul A Stevenson | Still living in Prestwick and working in London. Do you remember Neil Wallace, Jim Graham, Ian Wilson, Rodney Collins, Nicola Tennant, Janice Beaton, Brian McWhinnie, Stuart Piper, Andy Forbes, Diane Crighton, Lorna Sheriff? | |
| Alistair Donnachie | Hi - interested to try and catch up with old friends. | |

| Helen Oliver Maiden Name : - Risk | My brother Colin (Risky) just told me about this site. Great Idea. Always wondered what happened to folk. Twenty years on since leaving. Now living just outside Kincardine and make the odd trip down to Prestwick to visit family and friends. Memories of good laughs in the french class with Ms McMath and the hellish experience of singing in first year in front of everyone cos Mr Godfrey said so.... scarey !!!! Where Shiona McGillivray, Lesley Strachan, Jill Ma | |
| Paul Burrows | Left in 1978 for Australia. Well remember the prefect's common room and 'Spitfire pilot' type scrambles to bust kids smoking in the toilets! Trained as a teacher in Sydney, inspired by Messrs Sutherland (geography), Kennedy (science) and Curry (English). Now working in photography and journalism, publishing magazines. Started taking pictures at school and still have lots of photos of my year from around 1976 to 78. Would love to hear from other class-of-78ers... and what about a reunion in 2003... 25 years and all that??? | |
| Christine Robinson Maiden Name :- Cross | Hello to all the former Prestwick Academians out there. I've been reading with pleasure all the entries and recognise so many of the teacher's!! | Bill Bailie | Came across this web site by chance. Essential research for work you understand! Still stay in the area, in Ayr. Born and bred Prestwick boy. Enjoyed all my years playing fitba for Prestwick Ams, Minishant, Glenburn and flirted with some bad junior sides, but the Scottish cup run we had with Glenburn circa 1985 still gets talked about to this day. Mssrs McNiell, McColm, Flynn, Cowan, Morrison, Murphy, Bicker, Allan, Henderson, Jardine, McLean...you know who you are !!!! Still see many people back and forth. Still involved with Fitba, but not as much these days, Jim (Jumbo)Morrison and I had a successful stint with Caledonian 13's getting the Scottish cup twice, winning the title at the second attempt. Still go and watch my eldest who's with Hibs and youngest when possible as well as walking round the golf course when possible.... notice I didn't say playing golf !!! Live in Ayr now, work in Glasgow. Lived all my days locally, except for a brief stint in Madrid. Enjoyed, playing with Glenburn and all the eejits. You know who you are! Rab McNeill, Billy McLean, Mick Dillon, Dally Duncan, Puddin, Dadler, Peter McColm, Chip, Fred, Jumbo, Bits, Yogi, Jim Boyce, Mick, Charlie Traynor, Chick & Kevin, Davy Cowan, to name but a few.. Here are a couple of memories. After a team night out, Billy McLean falling asleep in the Taj, face down in his curry. Peter McColm chasing a Cumnock player all over the pitch cause he scored against us. Bits famous quote when a visiting team from Glasgow starting putting the boot in, Lads, lets mingle with the guests Yogi hiding round the side of the school while we did the 5 mile run and joiningback in as we came back, giving it big pants as he came in. Rab McNeill scouring the pub on a Friday night to make sure we werent oot on the bevy. Dadlers face when bits put a frog in the trainers water bucket and he went on to treat someone and pulled out the frog instead of the sponge. Dadler putting deep heat on Brackies moustache, he had to come of it was so sore.Anyhow must fly. Enjoy! | |
| Robert McGowan | Was at Prestwick from 70 till 74 now staying in the North East would like to hear from anybody from that time.John Brackenbridge Rab
Steele. Good times indeed Harry Scott the gym teacher to Mr Wilson in tech alot of other messages brought back good times and old names i had forgot.
| Lesley Howie Maiden name :- Wood | Started first year at Prestwick Academy in 1970 but joined Prestwick High School in 1964 in Primary 2. Found this site through my daughter who is looking for information for a primary school project. | |

| David Seaton | ||
| Colin Kelly | Have a look at my web site www.colinkelly.com with Monkton Primary School pics - more of Friendsreunited.com | |
| Charles Emerson | Started at Prestwick Academy in 1970 after Glenburn Primary and left to come to Australia in 1974. I had Mr.McGarva for geography, Burston And Scott for PE,Mr Wilson for Tech, Mr.Godfrey for Music. Mr Murdoch was headmaster when I started. Class mates I remember from IB to 3O, had to repeat a year I was that dumb, were Patrick mcGill, Andrew Barclay, Robert McGowan, David Jameson, Steven Muir, Tony Sargent, Elaine Adair, Joyce Hawthorn, Carol Crawford and Agnes Cummins to name but a few after a thirty years. I had a look at some old class photos but I can't remeber half the faces never mind their names. Strange how teachers names come back more easily. From Glenburn Primary 1963, Miss Kennedy, Miss Lang, Mrs Bryce, Mrs Burton, Miss Templeton. Mr Adams was the headmaster and later Mr Paterson, I think. If anyone remembers me, I had athsma and was off ill a lot, I'd like to hear from you. | |
| Sylvia Morrison | Recognised a few names! Particularly Karel Munro nee Gray - lived two doors along from us in Highfield Avenue. How on earth do you all remember teachers names? Or do I just have a lousy memory! The only one I remember (with dread) is John McHarg. It was only after I left school that I discovered I could actually do Maths after all! He's got a lot to answer for....... | |
| Anne McGillivray Maiden Name:- Wilson | ||
| Ian Wilder | ||
| Elaine Brook Maiden Name:- James | ||
| Stewart Anderson | Let's see, I remember the chance of getting my head kicked in on any given day was about 100%. As an insufferable smart arse, I found it impossible to keep my mouth shut when approached by even the largest of mobs from em...eh... that special part of town. All in the name of the laughs. Getting belted daily, too, is a strong, recurring memory - likewise, for the laughs, but with teachers (Mr Burns, Ms McMath). Anyway, I'm still extremely funny, but dangerously subtle now. I live in California with my wife, Annie (American) and wee boy, Stanley, a golden child of 9. Email me if you'd like to have a nice bit chat. I have lots of good stories. Apologies to the many girls who fancied me. Why didn't you all say so at the time? | |

| Phil Stephens | Came across this whilst waiting for the paint to dry in the bathroom here in Yorkley Forestof Dean. I remember Kingcase well especially the adorable Mrs Boyle who gave me the strap for looking up at the clock, and the wonderful Miss Black the violin teacher who slapped my face for not being able to hold down the strings. Ahh such fond memories, still I got my own back. I was the one who 'removed' most of the model oil rig that was kept in the stores cupboard. Ha Ha that showed em. Still I have fond memories of Prestwick. Many happy times with my mates down the beach, at the airport. Where are they now I wonder -Andrew Todd,Ian Sheilds,and me old 2 & 8 Neil Diment who I last saw about 18 years ago, last heard of working for NATS. Happy to hear from anyone who remembers me. I'm off to do some more painting and home maintainance...........Aint this what livings all about! | |
| Barry Baker | I attended Kingcase Primary from its opening in 1972 until 1977. As I remember the Head Teacher was Ronnie Simpson and my teachers were P2 - Mrs McEwan, P3 - Miss McCann, P4 Mrs Sinclair, P5 Mrs Brock and P 5 & 6 -Mrs Murray. Hope this info is of some use! | |

| Lesley Brown | I started Kingcase in 1977 (P3) with Mrs Hyslop. I remember Mr. Simpson, Mrs Boyle, Mrs Shields and Mrs Brock. I was friends with Carol Murchie and Gillian Kerr. I'm still living in Prestwick and am now a teacher. | |
| Lisan Mehan Maiden Name:- Corse | I started Kingcase in 1978, I think, in P4, Mrs. Sheild's class. I had Mrs. Sinclair in P5, (I can't remember the name of my P6 teacher although I can picture her vividly) and Mrs. Murray in P7. I also have clear visions of Mr. Simpson in a rage for one thing or another, usually because people weren't eating their school dinners or were chewing gum. I now live in Skye with my husband and 3 young children. | |
| Craig Young | I started in Kincase in 1975 and remember Tommy and Lesley. I still have the p1 picture somewhere. I went to see my friend Stephen Gilmour in San Diego in 2000, but havn't seen anyone else for a while. | |
