Kyle & Carrick Scout Cooking Competition
The annual cooking competition, sponsored by Ayr College took place on Sunday 12th in Ayr. Unfortunately due to the sudden change in weather some teams were unable to get to the event, but the 4 that did make it again demonstrated a very high skill. Their task to prepare a celebration meal for 4 using two gas rings.The four teams, from 100th (Alloway), 69th (Tarbolton), 12th (Prestwick) and 18th (Ayr) gave the judge, Robert Young from Ayr College, quite a task as he marked the teams on all the normal categories relating to the catering business such as presentation, preparation and hygiene, to mention but a few.

Kyle District Scout Quiz
The 3rd and final final round of the Kyle District Scout Quiz took place on Friday 10th. 6th Scout Troops took part in this years event which saw rounds take place in Prestwick, Tarbolton and finally Dundonald

This years winners were the 69th (Tarbolton) with the 12th (Prestwick) B team second and the 100th (Alloway) taking third place.
Kyle District Beaver Fun Day 2005
Over 80 Beaver Scouts from Alloway, Ayr, Dundonald, Prestwick, Tarbolton and troon took part in a Fun-day at Alloway Church Hall on Sunday 20th. The younsters took part in a treasure hunt, word search, Skittle and dodge ball games as well as having two bouncy castles to play on during the afternoon, before ending up with a sing song.

Kyle Leaders and Explorer Scouts assist Glasgow Disabled Scouts
2 Leaders and 2 Explorer Scouts from Kyle district recently helped out in the 2005 Glasgow Disabled Scout Summer Camp at Auchengillan.
There were just over 100 at the camp, including 30 wheel chair users.
The Glasgow Disabled Scouts are always looking for helpers, both for their weekly meetings and at their camps. There are a number of Ayrshire Leaders and Explorers who do help when ever possible at the weekly meetings as well as the camps. Kyle Cub Scout 7-a-side Football Tournie
Held on Saturday 21st May at Whitletts, the winners of the Tournament were 18th Ayrshire "B" team (Ayr)and second place were 100th Ayrshire (Alloway).

Kyle District Scout Pioneering Competition 2005
Three Troops from Kyle District took part in the annual event at Dundonald. After a short session on knotting, teh teams were set the task of building a stand-a-lone flag pole and then a working Ballista.
A very close event with the girls from Dundonald just taking the edge and beating the lads from Tarbolton and Troon who came second equal.

Kyle District Cub Scout Christmas Carol Service
The 100th Ayrshire (Alloway) Cub Scout Pack hosted the annual Cub Scout Carol Service at Alloway. In the form of a Nativity Play intermingled with carols, a great evening was had by all. The collection made during the evening is donated to National Children's Home Charity

Kyle District Scout and Explorer Scout Challenge Hike
50 Scouts and Explorer Scouts along with leaders from Kyle took to the hills on Sunday to take part in a challenge hike - to follow a route and visit as many of the check points as they could on their route. The weather was kind to them and all had a great day.



Kyle District Scout Cooking Competition 2004
The event attract entries from 5 teams from the Scout Troops in the District. The range and dishes produced, using a double gas burner, and within a budget of £15.00

The 69th Ayrshire hed their annual camp at Invertrossachs at the end of July and into August.

The District has 10 Scout Groups and three Explorer Scout Units operating currently. The District also has a B.P. Scout Guild section.

12th Ayrshire 

12th Ayrshire Group 50th Anniversary Cake being cut by Norma Hull and Mhari Rennie
The Group celebrated their 50th Anniversary in January 2004 with a Church Service in Kingcase Church, taken by the members of the Group.
The Group operate at the south end of Prestwick and have Beaver Scouts, Cubs Scouts and Scouts.
14th Ayrshire 
The 14th operate at the north end of Prestwick and have Cubs and Scouts.
The 14th Ayrshire Group celebrate 90 years of Scouting in Prestwick in April 1999. They held a re-union of members through the years recently, when there was a large turnout of past and present members, some who had travelled from Canada for the occassion. The Group looks forward to celebratings it's centenary in 9 years time.
18th Ayrshire 
This Group operate in the centre of Ayr and have Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
28th Ayrshire 
The 28th operate in Troon and have Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout sections.
31st Ayrshire 
Based in Loans, this Group run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
43rd Ayrshire 
The 43rd operate from Kincaidston, in Ayr and have Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
48th Ayrshire 
The 48th operate from Dundonald and have Beavers,Cubs and Scouts operating.

3 members of the 48th Ayrshire Scouts were presented with the Chief Scout Gold Awards recently by Staff at Tiso's in Ayr who sponsored the youngsters expedition.
66th Ayrshire 
The 66th are based in Symington and have Beavers and Cubs running in the village.
69th Ayrshire 
Tarbolton is the home of this Group and they operate Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
The annual camp for 2004 took place at Invertrossachs near Callander in Perthshire - a selection of pictures from the camp appear below.

100th AyrshireThe 100th Ayrshire operate from Alloway, the birth Place of Robert Burns. They run Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Cub Scouts from the Group recently held a week-end camp at Fordell Firs where they enjoyed a fun packed 2 days including archery, grass sledging, bouncy castle and pioneering. On the Saturday night they joined in the Fordell Firs Site Camp Fire, along with the rest of Groups on site over the week-end.
The photo shows some of the leaders and helpers, with a sole cub scout, beside the mini-bus which was loaned to the Pack by Kerr & Smith, thus providing the transport for the week-end
The Group undertook bag-packing in the Ayr branch of Safeway over Christmas 2000. As a result of this fund raising the Group present Safeway with a cheque for £100 to go towards the Safeway nominated Charity for the year. The above picture shows Claire Milligan of Safeway receiving the cheque from members of the Group.
B.P. Scout Guild, Troon The only B.P. Scout Guild in Ayrshire, they meet once a month in Troon Old Parish Church Hall and have some very interesting sessions. For more information visit their page.
