The Ayrshire contingent for the 2004 Blair Atholle Jamborette have started to meet and get to know each other. The following pictures show some of the Scouts at a recent camp they held. They will be having a number of further meets over the coming months to prepare for July 2004.

The Area Commissioners Presentation Evening for Adults was held in Troon on Thursday 4th December.
As well as the normal presentations made during the evening, the main feature was a presentation to Bill and Flora to mark their retirement as Wardens (and much more) of the Culzean Camp Site.
Both Bill and Flora have been with Culzean from day one, initially supporting their son, Calum, who took on the role of Warden. However as time went on and Calum moved to pastures new, Bill and Flora stepped in and took over the roles.
From the days when we, Ayrshire Scouting, moved in the Culzean Tree Nursery, the pair have worked steadily to prepare the site for camp, cut down trees, drag the roots out of the ground, leveling the camp site, installing drainage, sowing the grass etc.
Flora also handled all the booking for the site, and on most occasions turned out to meet the campers and to see they off site again at the end of the camp. But it did not stop there, they made regular visits to the site, to open the 'tuck shop' and to do general maintenance whilst they were there.
But it was not just week-ends, Bill and Flora would be found there at various times, when work permitted, do all the little, and not so little jobs, that were needed to keep the site in tip top condition.
To mark their retirement after nearly 20 years at the camp site, Sandy Gow (Ayrshire Area Scout Council President), presented the couple with a crystal bowl, suitably engraved to mark the occasion.
